July 15, 2022: Skincare-Themed Camp & Free and Discounted Burgers
This summer McDonald’s promoted a 27-day virtual camp through its app, which kicked off on July 5. It contains discounts on food, exclusive merch drops and virtual performances by popular musicians. Each week has a different theme, and this week’s “Self-Care Summer” will bring fans a skincare product drop and a virtual concert from musician Omar Apollo on Sunday. McDonald's is offering customers a 20% off the entire menu, allowing them to pick up all their favorite food from breakfast to normal menu. From February 21 to February 27, diners can use the 20% discount once a day while ordering via the McDonald's app. The offer is available under the “deals” section of the app.

McDonald's has filed ten trademark applications that describe its plans to make a move into the metaverse and offer virtual restaurants as well as other digital-based products. The announcement of McDonald’s venture into the metaverse indicates the company’s plan of operating a virtual restaurant featuring home delivery. McDonald’s-themed metaverse world might allow users to visit a digital version of the restaurant and order food from the virtual restaurant.
November 19, 2021: "Mariah Menu"---12 days of deals
McDonald’s is teaming up with the famous American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey for the brand’s latest celebrity-backed promotion. Dubbed “The Mariah Menu”, the promotion offers customers a special menu featuring a select free item each day from Dec. 13 to Dec. 24. Customers who make a $1 minimum purchase on the McDonald’s app can get a free item from “Mariah Menu“. The items on the special deals menu include offerings such as a Big Mac (available Dec. 13), McChicken (Dec. 14) or Mariah’s personal favorite, a cheeseburger (Dec. 17).

August 24, 2021: Home Delivery Service Available on the McDonald’s App in the UK
McDonald’s has finally launched home delivery service in 900 restaurants in the UK. The new service is now available on the McDonald’s app. Previously, customers could only order food for walk-in takeaways through this app, while home deliveries were only available on Uber Eats and Just Eat. Now the McDonald’s app offers customers the option for home delivery.
