What’s the difference between WhatsApp, WhatsApp Messenger and Messenger?

Many are confused by the similarity in these app names. Just remember this: WhatsApp and WhatsApp Messenger are the same app. It's the way people call it. Some people prefer to say WhatsApp while others prefer to call it WhatsApp Messenger because it's a messaging app.

Messenger is a different messaging app also owned by Facebook, but is less popular than WhatsApp.

Share Data with Facebook

WhatsApp requires users to share their personal data with the social network. The requirement is being delivered through an in-app alert directing users to agree to sweep changes in the WhatsApp terms of service. After Feb. 8, 2021, WhatsApp has stopped providing service to those who don’t accept the revamped privacy policy.
